Does a Seminole or Osceola County child get the Orange County award at an Orlando school?
No, because the county of residence on the application sets the amount. For K-3, 4-8 and 9-12 respectively, Seminole pays $8,377, $7,793 and $7,602; Osceola pays $8,336, $7,752 and $7,561; and Lake pays $8,282, $7,698 and $7,507.
Orange County's own figures are $8,420, $7,831 and $7,639.
Can a child use the scholarship at a private school in another county?
Yes. The scholarship can be paid to any participating private school in Florida, so a family from Kissimmee or Sanford may enroll at an Orlando campus without altering the amount.
Why does the county matter for dual enrollment?
Valencia College requires PEP students to live in Orange or Osceola County, so a family in a different county should check with the college it plans to attend.
